Here we are only days away from what is supposed to be the biggest holiday of the year.
I'm not sure I can go with that concept. It's far too hectic and much too expensive for an ordinary sole such as me. In my old age even my kids are feeling the blahs of the impending big day. I must come up with an idea to make the season more joyous.
Things to try:
More presents
More people invited over to celebrate with us
More decorations to look at
More food to eat
How about less of all of the above and more time spent enjoying what the season is all about
Everyone says that----but------ how about actually trying to vocus on the concept of less is more and family is to love and enjoy. Running all over kingdom come to give and get is a real bummer.
7 1/2 Habits of Highly Successful Lifelong Learners
In the beginning we were asked to checkout this philosophy as one of our things.
I scanned through them and made an observation for the record.
I really didn't think much more about them.
Now that I've muddled through the 23 things, I'm looking at
these 7 1/2 steps with a lot more respect.
This is what it takes to get to the end in one piece.
And now I can really play.

Net.library was pretty much a blow by- I really found more titles I might actually use in our database. When I get this mp3 thing, I'll try it out.
I have had a lot of fun and frustration trying out all these things. I'm very grateful that we were afforded this opportunity to explore.
In the beginning I called one of the blog champions for some advice, I was told that my ADD problem could not be addressed at that time. You may notice I have stuff all over the place.
You don't know the half of it- I didn't do things in order and I did a lot of stuff just because I wanted to, not necessarily because that step came next. The important thing for me is I had
a great learning experience. For a person my age, that is no lite statement. I also really appreciated the tenacity of some of our staff and the willingness to help others. This has been a fantastic bonding experience for most of the bloggers at YPL.
Again, I thank you all from my wannabe Pam's Perfect Princess' heart.

I have played with zoho and googledocs. I used google for schedules, which worked very well, I tried to use zoho for an ebay type thing to keep track of sales and whatnot. It wasn't that much
different from what I'm used to using at home. The big difference is the versatility of using the web. I can work on this from almost anywhere and other people can add to my forms if I choose to let them. I can see where this could really make a world of difference to small business and people without updated software. There's always people who just want the world to know what they're thinking. It seems to me that in time no one will have to buy programs for their home computers, we'll all just google whatever we need. This would have to be a good thing.
I checked out alot of the award winners from the short list. The thing I really appreciated the most was finally having a directory to access sites I would never have found on my own.

I did set up a wiki page for myself using ppp as my address title. I haven't added any pages yet,but I did make a couple slide show type things. I need to have something worthy of sharing with the world to say. I have just been going crazy with all the techie stuff. I hope everyone loves what I did to my fireworks photos. If I can find great things to do with a wiki, there is no end to what the library can do with them. Think about all those great reference questions that take forever now, just taking minutes because every person whoever asked something similar put it in a wiki. Think of all the genealogy work being trimmed down to size. The everyday life stuff that has boggled the mind forever can finally be discussed rationally with about a millions strangers soon to become your new best friends.
